Our message
- We believe in a society that values creativity, imagination and expression.
- We believe the arts generate growth and tourism.
- We believe the arts enhance our reputation.
- We believe the arts enrich our lives.
- We believe in the value of the arts.
Our objectives for 2012
- Be a voice for the arts in Ireland, communicating the value of the arts and campaigning for continued and increased engagement with and investment in the arts.
- Support advocacy for the provision of appropriate social protection and other key supports for artists and those who work in the arts.
Specifically, we aim to:
- Establish a new National Steering Committee and structure for the NCFA
- Begin a three year major fundraising campaign
- Further research to enable clear communication of the value of the arts in its own terms
- Prepare a position paper on the arts and education
- Lobby to protect arts funding at local government level
- Implement a media and communications strategy that engages broadly - from the politician to a member of the public
Our funding
The NCFA does not receive public funding. So far, we have relied on donations and the time, talent and goodwill of committed individuals and organisations. If you’d like to support the NCFA please donate here.
